Introducing Annie!

Hey there Pearland! What do you have planned this week? How about coming into Josephine’s Pearland, and meeting Annie!? She’s new to our spa; let’s give her a warm welcome!

Annie graduated from the Aveda Institute in Houston, TX. She was licensed as an Esthetician in 2011. She specializes in Advanced Skin Care, Advanced Specialized Facial Treatments, Hair Removal, and Hydrotherapy. Annie is currently enrolled in the School of Massage in hopes to obtain her Massage license. Annie's continued Aveda training includes Face to Face and Aveda Advanced Makeup. Master this Va-VOOM Topknot style

The key to this at-home style is patience….

STEP #1

Begin by backcombing your ponytail to create a bigger, more secure bun.
If your hair is SUPER fine, this is especially helpful.
A little bit of teasing goes a long way, not only creates the illusion of more hair but
 also it gives it enough grip to stay up all day or night. Secure the front section with
Aveda’s Control Force hairspray for all day hold.

STEP #2

Next crisscross the bobby pins into your hair to keep it in
place and create a tight grip. If you're using bobby pins to create the bun,
here's how to make it super secure:

·         Push the feet of the bobby pin up through the edge of the bun

·         Then jackknife the bobby pin back down, towards the center of the bun.

STEP #3

Finally wrap or tuck the bun tightly and then loosen it a bit with your fingers.
Most of us want a little bit of fuzz or messiness in an up-do, but if you start
 messy, your chignon or topknot (or whatever type of bun you're creating)
will get really messy by the end of the night.
Start with a tighter, more secure bun and then loosen strands lightly with
your fingers to make it look less perfect.

Sasssy Summer Eyes

I know what you’re thinking, “it’s ladies night out this weekend, and I can’t do a smoky eye look in the winter!” Ladies, have no fear—sassy summer eyes, by Josephine’s, is here!

Step One: Prep the eye with a basic light shadow. This could be a tan, light pink, or even a light blue color.

Step Two: Lightly line the upper lash line, with a black eye liner pencil. Be very careful to make sure your line is right against the lash line.

Step Three: Using a smudge brush, bring the black line up, to look more like a dramatic cat-eye. You can make this as over-baring and dramatic or as light and crisp as you would like.

Step Four: Start at the middle of the lower lash light, and use the black eye liner pencil to meet the outer corner of your eye. This will make the ends of your eyes appear smaller, and sexier.

Step Four: Apply false lashes for a fun and sexy ladies-night-out look!
