Spicy Summer Braid Idea—Fishtail Style


Braids are all the buzz this summer, and we have the inclusive on how to make your braids look fun and unique! For starters, not just any old braid will do—lets try something different, like a fishtail braid!

First, we’re going to give you step-by-step instructions on how to fishtail braid, then, we’re going to show you how to spice it up!
Step 1: Part your hair into two even sections.
Step 2: Take a small strand of hair (preferably from underneath so that it wraps around the entire section) from one section and bring it over to the other side. Make sure your strands of hair aren't too large, or it will look more like a regular braid!
Step 3: Do the same thing with the other section.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 & 3 until the braid is finished.
Step 5: To make your braid a little more full looking, lighting tug the edges of the braid to widen it.

Now, it’s time to get a little crazy…

Step 1: Tie yarn to one layer of hair at the root. We teased the roots a little bit to help the yarn stay.
Step 2: Braid the pieces in with the same technique as seen above. Be sure to vary the colors of yarn.
Step 3: Trim pieces of yarn and tie off with yarn.

This look is perfect for pool parties, and beach days! You can even match the yarn up with your swimming suit!
